On the second day of the show our very own Jeff Carter (Regional Sales Manager - UK South) was fortunate enough to be invited to join the team at NRS Landscaping’s on their garden stand.
The People’s choice ‘Gold’ and ‘Best in show’ garden was won by Thistlefield Garden Design (www.thistlefield.co.uk). This stunning design was created by Paul Welford and built by the Thistlefield team using stone supplied by NRS Landscape Centre (www.bryancater.co.uk) from Northwold in Norfolk. The ‘mirror image’ which features prominently centre stage in the Indian Sandstone is a rare find and Gary (NRS) was fortunate to find this and keep it for Paul’s design. The paving is jointed using Mushroom EASYJoint which compliments perfectly.
Royal approval! Prince Charles and The Duchess of Cornwall visited the show and the couple spent some time on the award winning garden and chatting to Paul and the team before carrying on with their day.
The ‘rusty’ steel arbour has a living roof which really sets it off against the colour and texture around it. The planting included many stunning flowers but also hides fruits and salad vegetables.
The day was busy with thousands of visitors all taking the opportunity to wander round the vast site. Livestock, machinery, clothing and fairground rides provided the entertainment whilst numerous food and drink outlets kept everyone fed and watered.
I had an enjoyable day chatting to trade and general public who showed an interest in the products on display EASYJoint was by far the most talked about as many have heard about it but found the technical information very useful and interesting.
