Tips and information for applying EASYJoint in the rain

EASYJoint's main advantage over traditional pointing methods for paving are it's ability to be laid in the rain, water does not inhibit the laying process, here are our tips and info on applying EASYJoint in the rain.

EASYJoint's main advantage over traditional pointing methods for paving is it's ability to be laid in the rain, water does not inhibit the laying process in fact water actually enhances the process in many cases and this is why we strongly recommend using the wet method of application.

1. Water helps to make the EASYJoint flow into the joints and across the paving
2. Water helps the EASYJoint to self-compact into the joints when brushing it in, helping to find it's own level
3. The water reduces the likelihood of staining to the paving. The water acts as a barrier against the natural oils in the EASYJoint. After application, wash the patio down removing excess oil residue and EASYJoint grains.

(For particularly sensitive stone we would recommend sealing the patio several days before jointing with EASYJoint - For more information follow this article

If heavy rain is due or occurring, it can unsettle the top of the joints, the joints can be retooled using a pointing tool and topped up provided they remain wet.

EASYJoint requires air to cure so water delays EASYJoint from curing. This is why any waste product can be placed back into the tub and reused provided it is submerged by at least 50mm of water, watch the video on reusing EASYJoint

An example of EASYJoint being soaked with water, EASYJoint works just as well in the rain
